Denton Bible Church Fellowship Riders Blog

Gentlemen of the Road:

We have been invited to cook Hot Dogs for Crownover Middle School on Thursday August 12th, from 12:00-1:00.  I am looking for some volunteers to burn some dogs, load some buns, and greet some 6th graders with a smile and some encouraging words.  This is a truly amazing opportunity for us to be invited to be a part of.  Mr. Jeff Tinch has been the man behind the scene that got all of this started and opened the door for a bunch of motorcycle guys from church to get to cook hotdogs for some school kids.  Like I said, we have been invited to do this.  We need to roll out in force to serve these kids, their school, and our community.

This is a Co-Ed event!  We need men to sweat, ladies to smile and hand out dogs.  If you are available and would like to reach out to the community, respondez si'l vous plait.  Okay, that was a little over the top!  Just give me a call or email that you would like to help.  And Ride your "Motor" as my Dad likes to say.  The kids get a kick out of seeing, and hearing those motorcycles roar into the parking lot.

Let's Do This,

Allan

Gentlemen:

We have a ride coming up this Saturday, June 26!  We are planning a trip into the the history of the great state of Texas.  Our Saturday adventure will take us to Waco, Tx as we tour the the halls of the Texas Rangers Museum.  If you like Guns, History, and Motorcycles (yeah they have a Texas Rangers Chopper), then plan on coming with us Saturday morning for a 2 hour ride to Waco, a bite of lunch, a tour of the Museum, and a 2 hour ride back to your castle.

Launch time:  0830 from DBC parking lot.  We will make a stop for refilling tanks, and emptying bladders about midway.  We should be back before 4 p.m.

Yes, it will be warmish, keep in mind safety with comfort.  If you haven't been to the Museum before, you will get a kick out of this trip.

Garage Night Tuesdays is taking a Vacation for the next few weeks.

Enjoy this time with your buds or with family.  We will be cranking up the Garage Nights with an announcement in August.  More to follow.

Destination is scheduled for Granny's Home Cooking in lovely downtown Overton, Tx.  This ride is planned for 3hrs. 30min. enroute which is 160miles from DBC to Granny's.  The first planned fuel/pit stop is Greenville, 60 miles/ 1hr 15min.  Next stop will be either in Mineola or Tyler for fuel. Gentlemen:

Tuesday night, April 13, 6:30-8:00p.m., will be the kickoff of DBC Fellowship Riders "Garage Night!"  This event is not only going to be held at night, but it is also going to be in a Garage.  What a concept!

This will be a great time of fellowship to "talk shop" at the shop.

Jeff Tinch will be leading this event, and I know that he has some great ideas in store for all of us.

Andy Firchau has been most gracious to offer the use of his Garage at Xtreme Upholstery, 709 Dallas Dr., in Denton.  Thanks Andy.  It's directly across the street from the John Deere dealership.

1st and 3rd Tuesday nights of every month, 6:30-8:00, will be "Garage Night."  Come on your bike our in the car, if the weather is inclement.  We will be meeting for a time of fellowship, stories, snacks, and some other undisclosed ideas.

As stated before, Mr. Tinch, Principal in the DISD, will be leading Garage Nights.  Attendance will be taken.  Excused absences will be granted on a limited basis.  Notes from home must be notarized.  Shot records are not required for the first meeting.

Hope to see you all soon.

Next ride is April 24th to east Texas.  This will be a great ride through the east texas piney woods.  Destination to be unveiled at the Garage Night.

If you know you will be attending, shoot an email to Jeff Tinch at

jtinch@dentonisd.org.  This will help in planning how many "Little Debbies" we need.

Greetings & Salivations,

The Riding Season is just around the bend!

As I'm sure you all know, Jeff Johnson was involved in an accident back in November.  He is finally becoming mobile, but not on 2 wheels.  So, he has asked me to do the planning for the upcoming Adventures in Riding 4.0.

Jeff Tinch came up with a great suggestion for a weekly meeting to be dubbed "Garage Night."  This will be an opportunity to meet at a  member's house to share in some "B.S."  Bike Stories!! Come on guys.

Jeff has volunteered his garage for the first month of meetings.  I told him by that time I should have my junk in my garage moved from one side to the other. Time and dates to follow.

Now the Rides.  One ride scheduled for each month with the Kickoff ride on March 27th to an undisclosed destination.  This place is in a gorgeous setting overlooking the hills of Texas.  If you were blindfolded (no blindfolded riding is allowed by bylaws), you would swear you were in Ark. or Okla.; but you're not, you're in Texas!

The only hint you get until Ride day is it will take us about 3 hours to get there, pit stops included.  The ride, the lunch, the view, and the fellowship:  Priceless!!

So, get the bike out, charge it up, rub it down, talk to it, and let's get ready to enjoy some Country roads, Good Cookin', and most importantly some memorable Fellowship.  Because we are the DBC Fellowship Riders.  Are you In?  Then Let's Ride!!
